In the Hajj it is part of the ceremony to throw stones (violence) and scream curses/obscenities. Newton's third law does occasional extreme violence to be peaceful the rest of the time. This does not mean peace it means finding a formula to look peaceful most of the time by allowing pure hate and violence to come out in controlled manners. Islam is based on Esau'a behavior patterns. Esau was not the chosen one; his younger twin was Jacob. Jacob was crowned King of Kings. His direct descendant Jesus was also crowned king of Kings by blood. Esau's line were the Jews in charge who wanted Jesus executed.

Doing controlled extreme violence does not make one peaceful the rest of the time. Not needing the extreme violence makes one peaceful.

In most good nations the military is controlled by a civilian oversight committee. This is the way these two organizations are supposed to operate.
